Blister Pearls are attached to the inside of the Oyster Shell in the form of a blister. The Pearl Nacre (or shine) extends to the shell. These shells are cut to include the blister pearl in a variety of shapes. If you look behind the pearl you may see part of the brown of the polished shell.
Pearl is the official birthstone for the month of June. It is also the birthstone for the Sun Signs of Gemini and Cancer. Fresh water pearls are given on the 1st wedding anniversary. Pearls are also given on the 3rd, 12th and 30th anniversaries.
